What this means, in more practical terms, is that you want a look that combines certain casual elements, that are then balanced with more serious elements.
Or, you could go for a more formal element, but carry it in a more casual silhouette. So, you are still going for that crisp white shirt, but you leave it just a little unbuttoned to bring an ease the look. The key is to make sure that neither the business aspect nor the casual aspect of the outfit looks laboured.
To get this right, follow our guide on styling certain business casual looks.
These outfits are simple. Created by using simple timeless basics that most of you will already have in your wardrobe. Some of you may not even need to buy new clothes. Just match the clothes you already have and you're ready to go. Look 100x better than your peers.

Business Casual Outfits For Men
Business Casual Outfit 1
This is the kind of outfit you go for when you still have to bring in the business suit, but you want the others to know that you can handle stuff casually.
To get this look right, and this is very important – go for a suit with a fitted, structured jacket, but with a slightly more relaxed pair of trousers.
Remember – the trousers should only be slightly more relaxed. You still want that formal business vibe to this outfit; you are only dialing that down a notch. It is best to pair a suit like this one with a solid-colored shirt, so go for something in a standard white.
Finish the look with a pair of brown formal shoes to contrast with the color of the suit. You can also carry an extra jacket to layer the look.
Business Casual Outfit 2
This is the kind of outfit that you can go for when you are meeting a colleague or an associate outside of your workspace. This look opts for a more unconventional palette for a business-casual attire, reserving the silhouette of the individual elements for the formal impact.
This is also best suited for a spring/summer look. Go for a linen blazer that offers some texture to your look. A lighter khaki brown like this would bring out the texture even more. Keep the rest of clothes in a neutral white, only adding a darker, moodier brown with your belt and a pair of loafers.
Business Casual Outfit 3
This is what you can go for when you want the outfit to be more business, less casual. Everything in this look is very fitted, very structured, with the tee and the sneakers being the only two laidback elements.
But since the tee is also very fitted, it just adds to the structured nature of the look. This look is also entirely in a neutral palette, with the greys and whites and blacks.
You want the neutrals to pop out ever so slightly, so instead of a plain grey suit, go for something with just a hint of a texture, like the one here.
Business Casual Outfit 4
Alternatively, you can go for a dark, navy-blue suit to keep the look within the business formal bracket. This is a slight twist on the look that we saw in the first outfit here.
This one leaves the shirt buttons slightly undone as well, so as to bring out a laidback vibe. Remember, crisp white shirts are very organically formal just by virtue of how classic they are.
And you have to go for something in this texture even if you do not like the crispness, because linen shirts tend to get too crushed when used as undershirts. Complete the look with a pair of loafers.
You can leave out the socks if you want the look to remain on the informal side.
Business Casual Outfit 5
The other option is to for something like the third outfit, but make it even more casual. The best way to do this is to work around the tee, and go for a looser fit, with a more textured look.
This is still the classic black and white combination, only with a little twist to make it stand out. The jacket in this case has a more relaxed fit, compared to the rest of the jackets on this list.
