If you love clothing and you’re interested in fashion, becoming a fashion icon might be something that calls to you. It’s a fun idea, and something that can make you stand out from the crowd. Being a leader when it comes to fashion should be thought about carefully as there are a number of ways to do it, depending on your style and your personality. Read on to find out more.
Love Yourself
Before you can be a fashion icon and allow other people to enjoy what you are wearing and to follow you closely, you need to love yourself. If you don’t, you’ll never feel comfortable with people wanting to know what you are wearing and how you are wearing it.
Step back and look objectively at yourself and your life. What needs to be changed (if anything) that will help you to like yourself more and be more confident? It might be something cosmetic – perhaps you are losing your hair and decide to speak to Dr. Ekrem Civas about a hair transplant, or maybe your teeth are crooked and you want to see an odontologist to fix them. Equally, there might be something else about your life that you don’t like. Whatever it is, work on ways to fix this and when you love yourself more, you can turn into a fashion icon.
Don’t Limit Yourself
There will, of course, be a certain type of clothing and fashion style that you like more than any other, and this is what you will prefer to wear. However, if you are going to be a true fashion icon, you need to try everything and wear everything; in other words, you should never limit yourself to one style or one designer.
The point of being a fashion icon is to lead the way and show people what kinds of clothing ideas are out there that they might want to try. If you limit yourself to just one or a small number of styles, you won’t be doing that, and you won’t be giving people the inspiration they might want from you.
Know What Suits You
Just as it’s important to try lots of different styles and show your followers plenty of ideas, you should also know what suits you. Understanding this means that, no matter what style you are wearing, it is going to be something that works for you and looks good.
There is no point in being a fashion icon if you don’t look good doing it. You want to be an inspiration for others, not someone who people look at and choose to wear something different because the clothes don’t suit you and therefore look bad.
Be Unique
Part of the fun of being a fashion icon, and one of the reasons why someone might want to become one, is that you are able to be absolutely unique – in fact, in order to really be seen and taken notice of, uniqueness is essential.
This means being different. When everyone else is wearing one thing, think about the future, learn about upcoming fashions, and wear that instead, even if no one else is. Soon enough, once the trends start coming through to the world, your look will be what everyone is wearing, and you will know it’s time to move on to the next trend.
Don’t worry about standing out and being different because this is what makes a fashion icon. If you don’t like the idea of this, you’ll be best to follow other fashion icons and not be a leader yourself as you simply won’t feel comfortable.
Experiment
What’s really wonderful about being a fashion icon is that you can express yourself through your clothes, so don’t be afraid to experiment in this way and look at the trends that are coming up and then work out your own take on it.
You might:
- Add different accessories
- Try different colours
- Think about matching unusual fabrics
There are many ideas you might come up with, and it’s a good idea to take some time to read through plenty of fashion magazines and online fashion blogs. Follow your own fashion icons on social media and see what they are doing. Don’t copy them as there is no point to this, but you will get a lot of good ideas this way.
By researching fashion icons and trends and making sure you keep up with the changes in the fashion industry, you will more easily be able to find your own path and your own followers who are excited to see what you are going to wear next.
